Partial dentures

If you have lost some or all of your teeth and dental implants are not suitable for you, another alternative is to consider a removable partial or complete denture. Partial dentures are recommended when some natural teeth are still present while others are missing. Unlike a fixed bridge, patients have the flexibility to remove a partial denture from their mouth. The denture consists of a metal framework and tissue-colored acrylic that support the missing teeth. This framework provides support to both the natural teeth and the surrounding tissues, resulting in a complete smile.

Complete dentures

Complete dentures are created in the absence of all teeth. There are two types of complete dentures, "conventional" or "immediate."

Immediate, also known as temporary, dentures are used to replace teeth on the same day they are extracted. Subsequently, following a period of healing, a conventional or permanent denture will be crafted. Conventional dentures are produced after the teeth have been extracted and the mouth has undergone a healing process of approximately six months. Following tooth extraction, the bone and gums shrink, resulting in an ill-fitting denture. Allowing for a healing period is crucial before fabricating a permanent denture.
